Patrik Laine was a huge acquisition for the Columbus Blue Jackets, but now an update has revealed his time may be running out with the team.
He may be in the NHL's Player Assistance Program right now with his thoughts anywhere but on the Columbus Blue Jackets, but Patrik Laine just gave a huge update on his NHL future. According to a report, the $2.75 million apartment that Laine owns in downtown Columbus was just listed for sale, indicating that his future may lay elsewhere.

Since arriving in Columbus, Laine has struggled to produce the way he did in Winnipeg, and even with the addition of Johnny Gaudreau, the team just hasn't clicked the way the front office had hoped. At the trade deadline, it was reported that the Columbus Blue Jackets were open to listening to offers on Patrik Laine, and with his struggles continuing on the ice, this may be an indicator that a discussion has been had between the two parties.
Ultimately, it appears as though Laine has got a long way to go before he gets back on the ice, and if he doesn't return this season, reports like this may ultimately show that his time in Columbus is done, whether he gets traded to another NHL team or heads back to Europe this summer.
