The Pittsburgh Penguins 6-9-2 start isn't what anyone in the organization expected after their moves this summer, with the biggest of all being the two-year deal signed by franchise icon Sidney Crosby. That deal locks him in for the rest of his career, but after the poor start to the season, fans aren't very happy about the way this team is looking.
In fact, two big personalities in the hockey world in Ryan Whitney and Paul Bissonnette have continued calls to trade Sidney Crosby, as it appears he could potentially never see the Stanley Cup Playoffs again if he remains in Pittsburgh. That could become especially true after their 7-1 defeat at the hands of the Dallas Stars on Monday, and during that game, the calls for Pittsburgh to make a move continued.
While plenty of people see the merit in Crosby leaving Pittsburgh to pursue another Stanley Cup, especially one with fellow Cole Harbour native Nathan MacKinnon in Colorado, but not everyone was in support, as some disagreed with the idea that he would ever leave Pittsburgh.
While Kyle Dubas may not be taking advice from 'Biz' as to how he should run his organization, he's certainly not the only one who wants to see Crosby moved on, and given the relatively cheap deal he signed in the summer, it's safe to say that there would be plenty of interested parties if a deal did become possible.
For now, though, it's unclear if the team would ever consider making a move, but if the slide continues, expect to see more and more interest in Penguins players around the league.
