Alex Nylander had a career best season in 2023/24 with two different teams, and now the 26-year old opens up on potentially playing with his brother in 2024/25.
While William Nylander hit the ground running in the NHL, the same can't be said for his brother Alex, who struggled to crack the roster in Pittsburgh over the past few years. Last season, he finally got his opportunity after being traded to Columbus, tallying 11 goals in just 23 games played, establishing himself as a name to watch in free agency.
Then, he found himself signing with the Toronto Marlies of the AHL, with the opportunity to push for an NHL spot, which would see him link up with his brother William. In his first interview since inking that deal, he's now opened up on the potential of playing alongside his older brother at the NHL level.
We're really looking forward to this. It's going to be awesome. I've obviously watched the Leafs the most out of all the teams, so I know them really well... It can't get any better.

With the likes of Ryan Reaves, Pontus Holmberg, David Kampf, and Calle Jarnkrok, as well as Easton Cowan and Fraser Minten looking to crack the NHL, so finding his way onto the roster won't be easy. However, if he can continue the form that saw him end the 2023/24 season on a hot streak, we may be looking at one of the best value buys of the off-season from Brad Treliving and Toronto.
