The incident occurred when Minten was on the penalty kill and was fighting for the puck; he turned to face the boards and Reinbacher came skating in and put a crosscheck along the nameplate of Minten's jersey in what could be called a dirty play
Minten was slow to get up from the play and did not line up on the penalty kill with Easton Cowan at the end of the 2nd period. Later on, it was reported by Eric Engels that Minten was not returning to the game for precautionary reasons; which was then confirmed by Hockey News writer Nick Barden:
Minten was seen favoring his left foot, and this hopefully is just a slight rolling of the ankle or a little stinger as opposed to something serious. It will take the Maple Leafs doctors and trainers a bit to assess Minten and see what to do going forward. Minten's road to the team is a little clearer than others, so the Leafs can afford to keep him out for safety reasons and not rush him back until they are sure he is 100%.
