Another Toronto Maple Leafs forward was injured during training camp, forcing them to leave the ice.

Kyle Clifford, the former St. Louis Blues forward, left this ice during practice on Friday and was "very light on his foot" when he left.

This is the fourth Maple Leafs player to go down with an injury during training camp, joining prospects Fraser Minten and Ben Danford. Also, Connor Dewar is still out of action due to an offseason shoulder surgery.

The enforcer, who was trying to earn an NHL spot for the Leafs in camp, has played in 753 NHL games during his 14-year NHL career. In that time, Clifford has amassed 66 goals and 78 assists for 144 points.

Clifford is most known for being a physical presence on the ice. In his career, the former Los Angeles King has been in well over 90 fights, while also throwing at least 111 hits in each of his first 10 seasons.

Clifford had signed a two-year contract with the St. Louis Blues back in 2020 but was traded to Toronto for future considerations as the Leafs were attempting to get more physical as the postseason started to loom. Clifford had been with the Marlies in that time but was working towards earning an NHL opportunity before getting injured.
