The Toronto Maple Leafs have one of the deepest forward groups in the NHL, and now it appears they're ready to move on from veteran Calle Jarnkrok.

For years now, the Toronto Maple Leafs have tried to ride a top-heavy forward group to success in the Stanley Cup Playoffs, and after it didn't work time and time again, they've finally got the depth to potentially contend for the greatest prize in hockey. We've heard about the rumours that young forward Nick Robertson likely wants out of his deal in Toronto, but now, a report from David Pagnotta has revealed that the team are ready to listen on veteran Calle Jarnkrok as well.

While it's not the first time speculation has been brought up around the veteran wingers now, it's the first time someone has confirmed the team are willing to move him, and with the play of Max Pacioretty thus far in the pre-season, it's likely that's exactly where he lost his roster spot. The team are likely looking to push Robertson alongside the duo of John Tavares and Pacioretty, so if they move the young winger, there's a chance that Jarnkrok will stay, but with two years left on his current deal, Jarnkrok is a solid trade piece.

Unlike previous years, there's no glaring weakness on this Maple Leafs roster, leaving Brad Treliving no desperate moves to make with the regular season rapidly approaching, but in Jarnkrok, he has a surplus of veteran wingers, with the 33-year old seemingly the odd man out. With 60 points in his two years in Toronto, Jarnkrok can clearly still help a contending team, so it's very likely that he'll draw interest whether it be now or at the trade deadline, with all signs pointing towards a big time trade.
