Elias Pettersson has been struggling mightily as of late, and after recent comments about the media, the criticism for him has continued online.

This season hasn't gone the way that the Vancouver Canucks hoped after an incredible 2023/24 campaign, and after trading J.T. Miller, the team are turning to Elias Pettersson to lead this offensive group moving forward.

Unfortunately that hasn't been going well thus far, with Head Coach Rick Tocchet putting him on blast after recent performances;

"I think he's waiting for something. I don't know if it's a lack of confidence in his shot... I don't know if it's a mental block right now, all year, but he's got to move his feet."

While Pettersson didn't react to those comments specifically, he was asked about his confidence level over the weekend, and instead of addressing the situation, he took a shot at the media instead.

"It's more annoying dealing with the media."

That could have been taken in a fun way by the fans and the media if it was a player known for being liked in the media, but given the way Pettersson has struggled under the pressure this year, it's safe to say that his comments weren't taken too well.

That goes for fans online too, as several people called him out for it, with one even comparing him to Loui Eriksson, which certainly isn't a comment to take lightly in Vancouver.

With the whole story surrounding J.T. Miller, it's surprising that Pettersson hasn't called out the media sooner, and with the team locked in a tight Wild Card race in the Western Conference, if he and the team can't turn their struggles around soon, things could be getting a whole lot uglier in Vancouver.
