After being eliminated from the Stanley Cup Playoffs by the New York Rangers TJ Oshie had his end-of-season press conference. During his time speaking he revealed two major injuries he suffered this season one of which he was dealing with all year.

Hockey players are always known as some of the toughest players in the NHL. After having his season end Washington Capitals forward TJ Oshie once again proved this to the be the case.

He admitted that he was playing with a broken hand after a hit from Matt Rempe during Game 3. On top of this, he also said that the broken hand was nothing compared to the excruciating back pain he had been dealing with all season long.

A broken hand is like a hangnail compared to what I go through (with back injuries). I'm usually on the floor peeing into water bottles. My hand just got squished a little there in the boards. No big deal.

It's insane to hear that a player of TJ Oshie's caliber is dealing with an injury that makes a broken hand feel like a hangnail. On top of confirming the seriousness of his back injury TJ Oshie confirmed he will be stepping away to get the problem taken care of.

«It's hard for me to ever for sure say that I'm stepping away. I'd love to play next year, but I'll need to come back with somewhat of a guarantee that my back won't be it's hard putting everyone through the situation»

Hopefully, TJ Oshie can find a solution that gets his health back to a point where he can enjoy time with his family. Even better would be a scenario where he can return back to the ice in some capacity. As the summer goes on we will all await positive news from TJ Oshie regarding his health and future within the game of hockey.
