Ryan Whitney is getting heavily criticized for his recent post with cartoon bears depicting a disgusting act, with some fans saying he has gone way too far.

Ryan Whitney, co-host of popular hockey podcast Spittin Chiclets and Ex-NHLer, has gone viral for his post on social media. After the Boston Bruins beat the Toronto Maple Leafs the other night in a dominating performance, Whitney, a Boston native, shared a horrid image depicting the Leafs' struggles via two cartoon bears.

Fans were quick to call out Whitney for the post, saying that hockey has a culture issue and posts like this are the reason that it persists. Here is the post in question.

Leafs fans I feel for you guys. This ain't right.

The criticisms are especially poignant considering the current events in hockey right now, as 5 NHL players were arrested earlier this season. Almost everyone pointed out how this sort of thing should not be joked about as it does more harm than good.

"Just when you thought hockey culture couldn't get any worse, Ryan Whitney is here to remind us how comparable being forcefully r---- is to losing a hockey game.

#LOSER

Clearly, most fans are pretty united on the question of whether or not this should be joked about. It remains to be seen whether or not Whitney will apologize for the post. As it currently stands, the post remains up on his social media.
