The term ''Last Dance'' really took a revival after the Michael Jordan documentary hit Netflix. The Chicago Bulls were an aging team that wanted to win one last championship before entering a rebuild, and that's exactly what the Boston Bruins are planning this season.
The Bruins are one of the oldest teams in the NHL and before needing to complete a rebuild, want to take one last crack at a Stanley Cup.
It was an exciting offseason for Bruins fans as captain Patrice Bergeron re-signed for one more season, and fan favourite David Krejci returned from Europe for one more year.
The Boston Bruins are currently first place in the NHL by 13 points on the second place Carolina Hurricanes, with a record of 53-11-5.
They look like a team that could go all the way this season, but looks like they may need to do that without one of their roster players.
Defenceman Derek Forbert has played in 54 games for the Bruins this season, primarily on a third paring role. According to the Bruins coach, he will be shut down for the remainder of the season, but they're hopeful he can make it back for the playoffs:
Montgomery: Derek Forbort is not expected back before the end of the regular season. He's not expected to need surgery.
