Alex Ovechkin may go down as the greatest goal scorer in NHL history, and now, he's broken another shocking record to support that statement.

After scoring on the Ottawa Senators on Thursday in a dramatic 1-0 victory, Alex Ovechkin now sits at 873 goals in his NHL career and is now just 21 goals behind The Great One, whom he has been chasing all season long.

While that official NHL history is expected to happen later this season or early next year, that doesn't mean that Ovi isn't done making other types of history, as he has now passed the great Jaromir Jagr for another intriguing record.

That goal from Ovechkin came on rookie Senators goaltender Leevi Merilainen, making it the 179th goaltender he's scored on in his career, officially making it the most goaltenders any NHL player has scored on in their career.

To the surprise of no one, the two names atop that list are Marc-Andre Fleury (28) and Henrik Lundqvist (24), who Ovechkin saw many times throughout his career as division rivals, with other names like Carey Price, Martin Brodeur, Jean-Sebastian Giguere, Jacob Markstrom, Ed Belfour, Mikka Kipprusoff and so many others on the list.

With Ovechkin's career expected to go at least another season beyond this one, there's a good chance that he'll find himself up against at least another one or two rookie goaltenders in that time, and while names like Auston Matthews are on incredible goal scoring paces right now, the longevity it takes to make this list is truly astounding.

After such an incredible run, we are still seeing the very best of The Great 8, and fans should be appreciating that now as his career comes to an end, as we may never truly see a player like this again.
