NHL insider reveals Tkachuk brothers may be reunited in the NHL after Four Nations tournament success
NHL insider Andy Strickland revealed today that Brady Tkachuk will certainly leave Ottawa, and is likely headed to join his brother.
The Ottawa Senators find themselves in a strange position coming our of the Four Nations tournament break.
The team is currently in a playoff spot at they sit 4th in the Atlantic Division, tied with the Detroit Red Wings for the top wildcard spot.
The Senators have not been in a playoff spot much at all during the regular season in the past few years and they haven't actually made the postseason since 2017.
And now that they are on the precipice of success, the team is reportedly considering shaking things up in a major way.
Senators captain Brady Tkachuk was a huge part of Team USA's success in the Four Nations tournament, scoring big goals, getting into big fights, and helping grow the game with him and his brother's antics.
The Tkachuk brothers have suddenly become celebrities in the United States even when most sports fans in the country previously did not care about hockey.
But the two of them have managed to create that excitement thanks to their passion and grit.
Now, the Florida Panthers are apparently hoping to capitalize on their chemistry together as Brady Tkachuk and the Senators look headed for divorce.
Brady, 25, has 21 goals and 44 points in 56 games this season. Matthew on the other hand has 22 goals and 57 points.
The Panthers will certainly have to give up a lot in order to pry Tkachuk away from Ottawa, with one reported possibility involving Sam Reinhart, who won a medal with Canada at the Four Nations faceoff.
Reinhart has 31 goals and 62 points in 57 games this season.
It will certainly be interesting to see if the Panthers can pull off a trade for Tkachuk this season but if they do, look out as the two brothers will destroy the rest of the league with their physicality and scoring at the same time.
