The National Hockey League cares about their players, they've brought in new things in the league like concussion spotters to help avoid players playing through possible injuries.
We've seen players have their careers ruined by concussions. People trying to play through them, or suffering too many, it can drastically affect your overall health, and while everyone wants to be on the ice, health is your #1 priority.
Unfortunately we are having some concussion issues with another player in the NHL right now, and he is one of the most exciting players to watch.
On February 7th,
Cale Makar took a hit from Jeff Carter, which he was later diagnosed with a concussion and was expected to miss atleast 2 weeks:
He was cleared to play and returned to the ice before those 2 weeks were up, just 11 days later, and unfortunately took a hit from St. Louis Blues Alexei Toropchenko, which sent him to the locker room:
It has now been confirmed that Cale Makar has suffered his second concussion in an 11 day span:
The kid is only 24 years old and after last season was being spoken about as a top 3 player in the game. Let's hope the league takes this very seriously and keeps him off the ice for awhile.
