Feels like we get to write something new about the waiver-wire every day, and every day it just gets more and more exciting.

Sometimes when you are a first round you get some pressure put on you that you unfortunately cannot live up to.

In the 2018 draft, the Colorado Avalanche used their 16th overall pick to select Martin Kaut from Pardubice HC in the Czech league.

Since being drafted, Kaut has played in 38 National Hockey League games, registering 3 goals and 3 assists for 6 points. For the last few seasons he has bounced between the NHL and the AHL for the Colorado Eagles.

In the AHL, Kaut has actually preformed fairly well, 94 points in 164 games, but he had 19 goals and 41 points in 46 games last season and had 2 goals 1 assist in 2 games to start this season before getting called up to the Avalanche.

In 18 games with the Avalanche this season Kaut scored 1 goal and 2 assists, and despite the Avalanche being full of injuries right now, they've seen enough of the 23 year old for the time being and have placed him on waivers to go back to the AHL.
