It's looks like this definitely could be Good Friday if your a Montreal Canadiens fan. The Montreal Canadiens are back home after taking a whooping from the Columbus Blue Jackets and then the speculation has been going crazy, is Carey Price going to play this weekend? And one man thinks for sure he is and that's huge because this man covers the Montreal Canadiens for Sportsnet.
That's none other than Montreal Canadiens Reporter Eric Engels. Engels was asked on Twitter if Carey Price would return Friday night vs the New York Islanders, or night vs the Washington Capitals.
To which Eric Engels replied:
"I'd be very surprised if Carey Price didn't play Tomorrow." -Eric Engels
This is definitely exciting if your a Montreal Canadiens fan, though they only have 8 games remaining of this terrible season, it's definitely nice to see Carey Price back, even if it's for a few game.
Carey Price hasn't played since game 5 of the Stanley Cup Final in Tampa Bay. He had surgery to repair his nagging knee injury in the summer before checking himself into the NHLPA Substance abuse program in October, a week before the regular season began.
Price has then had set backs since November re-injuring his knee, as well as Covid like illness back in March. It's believed the Canadiens will ask Carey Price to waive his no trade clause for a chance to go to a Stanley Cup contending team. This move would definitely help Habs General Manager Kent Hughes with his rebuild.
