Following Toronto's heartbreaking exit from the first round of the NHL playoffs against back-to-back defending Stanley Cup champions Tampa Bay, there has been a lot of speculation about different players future's with the team.
19-year veteran of the NHL Jason Spezza is in such a position. With his contract up this off-season Spezza has said:
"«This (Toronto) is the only place where I want to play.»
While he isn't putting up points like his glory days playing for the Ottawa Senators, Spezza is still a consistent contributor, and his leadership on the ice and in the locker-room is immeasurable.
Spezza was born in Toronto and playing for his hometown is likely a huge factor in his decision as he weighs retirement or the possibility of suiting up again for the Leafs.
