Jonathan Toews and Patrick Kane are the only remaining players from the dynasty team and it looks like even they will be gone from the Hawks soon.
When Kyle David the newly appointed General Manager of the Chicago Blackhawks told the media last season at the trade deadline that the Blackhawks would be entering a rebuild, it was only a matter of time before these two stars would be traded to help jumpstart the rebuild in Chicago.
Most hockey fans were hoping it would have happened by now, but with the trade deadline coming quickly, it's very likely we see them moved in the next few weeks.
Toews who isn't the player he used to be, is still capable of helping a contending team win. He is a great two-way player and can provide some scoring in a depth role.
Through 46 games this year Toews had 14 goals and 28 points, while playing on a losing team. He would be ideal for a team looking for a 3rd line center, who could move into the second line role if an injury occurs.
It's being reported that the Blackhawks have now given Toews a list of teams that are interested in him for him to choose from to create a trade. Toews has a full no move clause which means he gets to determine where he gets moved to:
#Blackhawks update: In addition to Patrick Kane, I can confirm Jonathan Toews has also been presented with a list of teams that have expressed interest in trading for him. And like Kane, while things can change, no decision is expected until closer to the trade deadline. David Pagnotta (@TheFourthPeriod) February 7, 2023
