The rumours had been flying for days after Lehner was pulled in a 1-1 game against the Washington Capitals as to what was wrong with Lehner. After the game it was announced he would undergo surgery, but head coach Peter DeBoer denied the rumours saying he was expected to play Sunday and was expected at practice Saturday.

This has to be the hockey gods getting back at the Vegas Golden Knights for tossing away the teams first ever goalie in Marc Andre Fleury.
Lehner was reportedly not happy with his time this year in Vegas and it will be interesting to see what happens in the offseason with the goaltending situation in Vegas. He will finish this season with a 23-17-2 record and a mediocre 2.83 goals against average and .907 save percentage.
If they miss the playoff for the first time in franchise history, expect some BIG changes to happen.
UPDATE: Lehner was supposed to have surgery earlier, but the Golden Knights asked him to hold off so it didn't affect their cap.
ESPN Sources: Robin Lehner told VGK on Thursday he was getting surgery.
Team doctor agreed it was best course of action after evaluation Saturday. Then team asked the goalie to delay & back up last night before allowing it. They cited cap implications, per sources.— Emily Kaplan (@emilymkaplan) April 25, 2022
