Blackhawks Release Update On Savoie
The Chicago Blackhawks have released an update on the status of Samuel Savoie, and the news does not seem good. The team made the following statement today.
"MEDICAL UPDATE: Samuel Savoie remains in Minnesota for further medical care following a lower-body injury suffered during last night's game.
Additional updates will be sent out at a later time."
The Incident
While playing the Minnesota Wild last night, Savoie went into the boards in an extremely awkward way. It was clear the situation wasn't good, as he was screaming in pain. He would eventually be stretchered off the ice.
Savoie, 19, has never played a regular season game in the NHL. His past three seasons were spent with Gatineau Olympiques of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League. Our thoughts are with Savoie, his family, friends, and fans at this difficult time.
