Habs Make a Major Decision on David Reinbacher's Future
The Montreal Canadiens caused a surprise at the last draft by choosing David Reinbacher with the fifth overall pick.
Many people thought that Kent Hughes and the Habs would take Matvei Michkov, but their minds were set on Reinbacher.
He's a highly talented defenseman who will have a huge impact in the NHL. However, Canadiens fans will seemingly need to wait at least another year before seeing him in Montreal.
Canadiens Make Major Decision for Reinbacher's Future
The Habs announced yesterday the latest wave of cuts from their training camp. Surprisingly, David Reinbacher's name was on the list, and he is going back to Switzerland on loan!
The Canadiens have loaned J. Dobes, R. Kidney, S. Farrell, and W. Trudeau to the Laval Rocket while D. Reinbacher has been loaned to HC Kloten in Switzerland.
As David Reinbacher returns to play for HC Kloten in Switzerland, it's clear he made a strong impression on the Montreal Canadiens.
«To have such a calm presence like that shows a special level of maturity for a defenseman.»
While many are impatient to see him back in Montreal, this year could be beneficial for his development.
His season with HC Kloten will be interesting to follow, and if he plays well, don't be surprised if he makes his NHL debut next year.
