Game 7 between the Boston Bruins and Florida Panthers was always going to be a bloodbath, but now it's one even the referees aren't immune from.
Carlo vs. The Ref's Hot Mic
With eight and a half minutes left in the first, Bruins blueliner Brandon Carlo was sent to the penalty box for roughing the Panthers' Sam Bennett. As he skated toward the box to serve his minor, referee Steve Kozari had some harsh words for Carlo - ones that were inadvertently picked up on a hot mic.
We're not sure what Carlo may have said to Kozari to elicit such a testy (no pun intended) response. But given the Bruins - a team that set NHL records during their dominant 2022-23 regular season campaign - are currently trailing 2-1 after two periods in a do-or-die game 7, perhaps his energy should be better spent on winning the game instead of provoking the zebras.
