The Montreal Canadiens have made it official and have officially hired Kent Hughes to be the next General Manager of the franchise.
Kent Hughes will be transitioning from a player agent into an NHL executive role for the first time. Hughes was a late addition to the Habs GM search but was always rumoured to be a favourite for the position.
Yesterday we reported that a source reported this deal was done but today it was made official.
Congratulations Kent Hughes.
Kent Hughes will address the media on Wednesday, accompanied by owner, president and CEO, Geoff Molson, as well as the Club's executive vice-president, Jeff Gorton.
