Jack Edwards, the play-by-play announcer for the Boston Bruins, is a highly controversial figure in the world of hockey. While some fans appreciate his style, many cannot tolerate him, and he consistently generates headlines for his broadcasting antics.
Recently, Edwards made headlines yet again for his outburst during a Bruins-Carolina Hurricanes game, in which he vehemently protested what he perceived as a penalty against Hurricanes player Martinook. Despite the officials' decision not to call a penalty, Edwards continued to rant and even laughed at the perceived infraction.
While Edwards has long been known for his bias towards the Bruins, on this occasion it seems that his loyalty may have clouded his judgment. In my opinion, the altercation between the two players appeared to be evenly matched, and the referees made the correct decision in refraining from issuing a penalty.
