Fans were in an uproar last season when the Tampa Bay Lightning circumvented the cap to bring in Kucherov's massive salary for the playoffs, and now we are seeing the Vegas Golden Knights do the exact same thing to bring back Mark Stone from IR.

A team that had the goal of building for the future when they first came into the league, quickly turned into a WIN NOW team after they made it all the way to the cup finals in year 1 of the franchise. They've let go on fan favourites such as Marc-Andre Fleury, Nate Schmidt and many others of the ''Golden Misfits'' that got them to the finals in the first season, and have brought in larger names like Jack Eichel, Mark Stone, Alex Pietrangelo, Max Pacioretty, Robin Lehner, who all have massive salaries to fit under the cap.

Since acquiring Eichel, we knew something was going to need to be done to get this team under the cap, which they tried to do with trading Dadanov at the deadline, which turned out not so well for the franchise as the Anaheim Ducks were on his no trade list.

Now we are starting to see not only fans get a little upset with circumventing the cap, but coaches are starting to pipe up as well, with Darryl Sutter saying:

«When they have the full squad, they're the favourites to win the Stanley Cup. Other than the team that has the Stanley Cup, they're the favourites. They have a $100-million payroll, so they have to figure out how to keep 20 out.»
