The hockey community is a very close community and when we mourn the loss of a member of our hockey family we often see some amazing signs of love and respect. After the passing of Teddy Balkind we saw another example of this.
According to the New York Times Balkind was killed during a high school hockey game when an opposing player's skate collided with Teddy's throat. The game was immediately stopped and Balkind was rushed to a local medical facility where he succumbed to his injuries.
Our thoughts and prayers are with Teddy's friends, family and teammates.
Here are some of the touching posts we've seen about Teddy Balkind.
