We all know that Jack Eichel is now a Vegas Golden Knight, but there were other teams involved in the negotiations as well. Today on the Jeff Marek Show, Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman revealed what Kevyn Adams was asking for in a Jack Eichel trade with the Anaheim Ducks.
The @FriedgeHNIC report that Buffalo asked for Zegras, Drysdale, and two 1sts for Eichel isn't surprising at all.
We had also heard that an alternative ask during negotiations was «4 of the best young guys», which we guessed were Zegras, Drysdale, and likely McTavish + Perreault
It's commendable that Adams was willing to ask for the world in an Eichel trade, but this ask is completely unrealistic. Friedman went on to share that Anaheim wanted to see Eichel's medical documents and after doing so the price dropped significantly to where it ultimately ended up being.
