Many were surprised when the Anaheim Ducks passed on Adam Fantilli at the #2 spot taking Leo Carlsson, but it all worked out in the end for Fantilli and the Blue Jackets:
Closer to Home
When Fantilli was asked why he preferred Columbus, he stated the following:
"It's close to home. It'll be a great fit. There's a lot of Michigan guys. It felt like it would be the right spot."
Columbus is also home to U of Michigan alumni and Team Canada alumni Kent Johnson.
Fantilli is still deciding whether he will return to Michigan next season or turn pro.
