Former NHLer Facing Prison Time After Failed Gold Investing Scheme

A unique story is arising as an former NHL player is facing prison time after a alleged gold scheme. Michal Sykora, who played close to 270 games in the NHL playing for the San Jose Sharks, Chicago Blackhawks, Tampa Bay Lightning and Philadelphia Flyers.
What We Know
According to AftonBladet Sykora is on trial in his home country of Czechia for the disappearance of physical gold worth tens of millions of Kronor.
If Sykora is convicted he faces up to a ten year sentence in prison.
Sykora's Debt
The two-time world champion started investing in gold when his company feel into great financial trouble and had debts equivalent to $14.7 million Canadian dollars to 37 different borrowers.
Some of the people he owed money to were his former teammates. Earlier this year Sykora declared bankruptcy. He allegedly made a payment of $331,560 Canadian from his company account to his personal account.
