One NHL writer has made a fool of themselves by ruining McDavid's would-be unanimous MVP by making a questionable decision.
Writer Makes Fool Of Themself With Biased Vote
The NHL awards are often viewed as a time to reward the best players for their impeccable seasons. Of 196 league-wide voters, Connor McDavid received 195 first-place votes for the Hart Trophy. However, he also received one 5th-place vote as well which is puzzling.
This means that one voter placed David Pastrnak as the best player in the NHL and they had McDavid and his 150+ point season as the 5th most valuable player in the league.
Fans are speculating this is notoriously biased Bruins play-by-play commentator Jack Edwards. Even if it is not Edwards, it is almost certainly a Boston fan who placed Pastrnak as the MVP.
Fans are now calling for this person to lose their voting credentials as it is a clearly biased decision.
