McDavid Takes Shot at Flames Fans During His Acceptance Speech.
Connor McDavid is the recipient of this year's Ted Lindsay Award, which goes to the player voted as the league's most outstanding one during the regular season.
There's no doubt McDavid deserves that following a career-high 153-point campaign. But his speech during tonight's NHL Awards may have ended up stealing the headlines.
The Edmonton Oiler took a moment to thank fans in every NHL arena during the season, while also taking a not-so-subtle dig at fans of their bitter rivals, the Calgary Flames, before thanking Oilers fans - drawing some chuckles from the crowd at the ceremony in Nashville.
Lastly, to all you hockey fans out there - even you Flames fans - you guys bring the energy to all the buildings across the league. It makes it special to play in front of you guys every night.
