Matt Rempe is one of the most physical and dangerous players in the NHL, and on Wednesday night, he sent a major threat to a Washington Capitals star.

The New York Rangers lost to the Washington Capitals on Wednesday, and after a massive suspension earlier this season, it's clear that Matt Rempe isn't looking to change his game too much.
As usual, he was right in the middle of the physical play during the game, coming together in a scuffle with Tom Wilson on the ice, when the Capitals star warned Rempe to 'not hit Ovi'.
Unsurprisingly, Rempe wasn't too worried about whichever player he goes after, as he sent a major threat to Wilson, although thankfully he didn't follow through on it during the game.
I told him I'll hit anyone I want

After scoring in the game, captain Alex Ovechkin is now down to just 10 goals before he passes Wayne Gretzky for the most in NHL history, and with the entire hockey world behind him, it's clear that his teammates want to be protective of him after he broke his leg earlier this season.
In his NHL career already, we've seen Rempe go after some of the biggest names, including that incredibly dangerous hit on Miro Heiskanen, so sticking true to his nature, Rempe appears as though he would go after Ovechkin given the chance.
Thankfully for the Capitals, they don't play the New York Rangers again this season, so while it's never truly safe for anyone on the ice in the NHL, this threat won't be a worry to the team for the rest of the year as they look to clinch top spot in the Metropolitan Division and make history with Ovechkin.
