While other teams in their division are busy making deals, Toronto Maple Leafs captain Auston Matthews has called out Brad Treliving ahead of the rapidly approaching trade deadline.

The trade deadline is one of the most chaotic times of the NHL regular season, and with very little time before March 7th, this year proves no different.
The Atlantic Division has been one of the most active in the last week, with trade deals finalized in both Florida teams.
Not long after trading goaltender Spencer Knight and a conditional first-round pick for defenseman Seth Jones, the Florida Panthers filled in that spot after sending Patrick Giles to the San Jose Sharks for Vitek Vanecek.
In the same day, the Tampa Bay Lightning acquired Seattle Kraken's Oliver Bjorkstrand and Yanni Gourde for Mikey Eyssimont, with several draft picks between the two.
A captain of a different Atlantic Division team, however, felt left out of the opportunity to bolster their shots at the Stanley Cup.
During a recent interview, Auston Matthews of the Toronto Maple Leafs called out GM Brad Treliving's lack of providing the "boost" they need to improve their Cup odds.

"You look at our division in particular, it's obviously very tight. Management is going to do the best that they can. I think that all we can do is trust in them. I mean, of course you'd love to see a boost. I think the way we played this year, the position we're in now, I feel really confident about our team and our group, but, you know, this time of year, you see teams adding, and you want to add as well. So I'm sure management and staff are doing a lot of thinking right now, doing a lot of homework and stuff like that, and I'll leave it in their hands. I'm sure they'll do what's best for the team."
The Toronto Maple Leafs are second in their division behind the Florida Panthers by just one regulation win, having just lost 2-5 to the Vegas Golden Knights.
Hopefully, Brad Treliving utilizes the trade deadline to the best of his abilities, otherwise the plan for a long-haul postseason could be dashed much too soon.
