It was an interesting 12 months for Marc-Andre Fleury. After winning the Vezina for top goaltender as a member of the Vegas Golden Knights, he was dealt to the Chicago Blackhawks for basically nothing.

The Blackhawks had a very disappointing season, so at the trade deadline the Hawks dealt Fleury to the cup contending Minnesota Wild.

Fleury shot out of a cannon when he started with the Wild, setting records and garnering the love of the fanbase right off the bat. But unfortunately towards the end of the season his numbers started to slip significantly, and that carried over to the playoffs.

Fleury played in the first 5 of 6 games for the Wild against the St. Louis Blues and did not preform well. Fleury had a 3.04 GAA and .906 SV% and that saw him get sat for game 6 which ended up being the final game for the Wild.

The Wild would love to resign Fleury, but with very little cap space because of the buyouts of Ryan Suter and Zach Parise, they will most likely have to let Fleury walk in free agency and trade breakout star Kevin Fiala.

There has been a lot of speculation that Fleury would return to where it all began with the Pittsburgh Penguins, but that doesn't appear to be happening now.

Fleury said he wants one more shot at a cup next season, so it will be interesting to see what cup contenders take a shot with Fleury. If he is willing to take a significant discount, would the Leafs be interested?
