Let`s be honest there hasn`t been to much to cheer about this season if you're a Montreal Canadiens fan. After getting so close to their 25th Stanley cup the team has hit rock bottom, literally.
However things are not nearly as bad as it seems, the Canadiens have the best odds at winning the NHL draft lottery and have seem to have found the right people to rebuild the Canadiens in Jeff Gorton and Kent Hughes. Also after many questioned the team's decision to hire Martin St Louis as their new head coach over more experienced coaches, the move has paid off big time.
Martin St Louis has rejuvenated many of the players on the Canadiens roster including their two top guys in Nick Suzuki and Cole Caufield, who many were calling a bust. Since St Louis has taken over behind the bench Suzuki and Caufield have had that swagger back that helped them to the finals last season. In fact many believe if St Louis was hired earlier, Cole Caufield could have possibly still won the Calder trophy this season.
Cole is such an energetic young player to be around, the Canadiens mic'd Caufield up ahead of last night's game vs the New York Rangers and we got to see Cole just having fun and being himself.
