It's been a tough year for the Montreal Canadiens to put it nicely. They are currently sitting dead last in the league after making it to the cup finals last season.
The Canadiens mood did didn't get any better playing in Carolina last night as it was a tough one to watch. The only bright spot was Habs Goaltender Jake Allen who's been playing great since returning from injury.
However Jake Allen was enraged after getting a insane penalty from the officials. During the 3rd period while the Hurricanes were peppering the Habs goaltender with shots, Allen's helmet had come loose.
Allen tried to get the referees attention to blow the whistle but it wasn't working. He was obviously not comfortable with his straps, so he pulled his mask off. This is something goaltenders do ALL THE TIME if they feel a strap is loose or their helmet is at risk of coming off, but for some reason, resulted in a penalty this time for Allen.
After the game Allen spoke of the play in his post game interview:
"I was angry and that's very rare that I am."
