Most fans know this, but clearly...some don't.
Montreal Canadiens' fans are always one of the most passionate bunch in the league. The Bleu Blanc et Rouge is a way of life to some, not just a hockey team. So after a trip to the Stanley Cup Finals it's easy to understand how frustrating this season must be.
I can assure you, it's just as frustrating for the players as well.
Especially someone like Jeff Petry. This season Petry has netted just 6 points in 37 games. If you compare that to last season's 42 points in 55 games, it's clear to see his struggling offensively.
An additional challenge being faced by Jeff Petry, is that if his family choosing not to return to Quebec with him after the league shutdown. The restrictions were just too much for a family with young children, so Jeff and his wife Julie made the difficult decisions to temporarily live apart.
All these decisions have clearly weighed on the 34-year old and impacted his on ice performance. Fans have clearly noticed and some have even diagnosed Petry with disinterest.
But on Sunday that went too far when fans began to flock to Petry's Instagram and even worse his wife's direct messages.
Julie Petry shared this example to her Instagram story.
These other messages were attached to Jeff's Instagram posts from earlier this month.
It's clear Montreal sports fans are upset but this response and treatment is the reason Brad Marchand shared that players don't want to play in Canada.
