Recent comments from Jonathan Toews have many expecting an NHL return, and now his long-term teammate Patrick Kane reveals where he should play, and it's no surprise that he doesn't want to see his former captain anywhere but Chicago.
After being away from the NHL for almost two years now, Jonathan Toews recent comments revealed that he wants another shot in the NHL, with several teams already being linked to the three-time Stanley Cup Champion.
While little has been heard about a potential return since Toews made those comments, it's clear that there could be traction around the league, with the former Blackhawks captain reportedly in fantastic shape after taking a trip to India to deal with his long-term injuries.
It's unclear exactly which teams have spoken to him at this time, but according to former teammate Patrick Kane, who will face his former team on Friday night, there's only one place that Toews should play with upon return.
"I think that would be amazing. You don't want to see him wear another jersey. You'd rather see him finish his career as a Blackhawk. But I don't know if that's in the cards. It would be a great story and good for the franchise."
After all that transpired in Chicago involving the major scandal that set this organization back years in the public eye, it's unknown how the fans would react to seeing him back in Chicago.
In the final year of his career, Toews tallied 15 goals and 31 points in 53 games played, so while he's not going to be the player he once was, he could definitely help a team moving forward, and as a leader and a mentor to Connor Bedard, a reunion could certainly be effective.
