The Minnesota Wild picked up the 4-3 win in their return to NHL action, but it didn't come without controversy as Marco Rossi has called out the officiating, who missed a clear call on Rossi earlier in the game that cost him two minutes in the penalty box.

This season has been a fairly positive one for the Minnesota Wild, with the emergence of Marco Rossi a key part of why they find themselves in the hunt for top spot in the Central Division this season.

Their return to regular season action on Saturday saw them pick up a dramatic victory over the Detroit Red Wings, but things weren't quite as easy as expected, as it took an OT winner from Rossi to get it done.

After the game, he wasn't quite as happy as one would expect the OT hero to be, as he called out the officiating after the game as a result of this dreadful tripping call on Patrick Kane, which many can see is a clear dive from this video.

"I don't know about a penalty, to be honest. Yeah, the refs were really bad today. But it happens."

Based on the comments on the video, it's clear that fans agree with Rossi, as many called out the Red Wings veteran for what was clearly a dive that ultimately worked, as the young Wild centre was given two minutes in the box.

Thankfully for Rossi and the Wild, they emerged with two points from the game as they now sit two points back of the Dallas Stars for second spot in the Central, but for now, we wait and see whether or not there will be repercussions for his comments on the officiating.
