It looks like Commissioner Gary Bettman is ready to abuse his power. After recent games, we have had some teams comment on poor officiating. First coming from Maple Leafs mocking the officiating in a press conference.
Habs head coach Martin St Louis has been warned also after being critical of the refs in recent Habs games, including tonight's when Tampa Bay Lightning forward Anthony Cirelli ran into Habs goalie Jake Allen going into the net with the puck and was deemed a good goal.
According to player agent Allan Walsh, NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman has given general managers final warnings to to all teams that:
"Bashing NHL officials will not be tolerated."

Walsh adds:
"I'm told that the NHL's consistently horrible officiating (and often missed flagrant calls was a "hot topic" on the first day of the NHL General Managers' meeting today. The NHL kicked off the discussion by reminding general managers that anyone who publicly criticises officiating will be severely fined."
The message is pretty clear.
