In last years playoffs the Montreal Canadiens were the underdogs that fell just short of becoming a Disney Movie.
They matched up against the Toronto Maple Leafs in the first round, which saw the Leafs take a 3-1 series lead, just to blow it and have the Montreal Canadiens come back and win 3 straight.
Second round comes along and after sweeping the Edmonton Oilers, the Winnipeg Jets match up with the little Montreal Canadiens. The Habs would go on to sweep the Jets!
Round 3, they meet the Vegas Golden Knights who just knocked out the Minnesota Wild and powerhouse Colorado Avalanche, no way they will lose to the Canadiens. Wrong, Habs knocked them out too.
Eventually losing to the Tampa Bay Lightning, but this unnamed General Manager things it was all fake and lucky.
Dallas and Montreal, never in the history of hockey would either of those two teams would have made the final, if COVID didn't happen. They got lucky in the perfect storm of an incomplete season and a fake run to make the playoffs. - An anonymous NHL GM
