One of the best playmakers in the NHL these past few seasons has been Toronto Maple Leafs Mitch Marner. The skilled forward handles the puck very well and has been crucial to the goal scoring success of Auston Matthews and John Tavares.
This past weekend at the All-Star game, the Atlantic Division won it all, and a lot of it had to do with the chemistry formed between Maple Leafs Mitch Marner and Detroit Red Wings Dylan Larkin.
Both players finished the two-game mini tournament with 6 points. Larkin had 5 goals and 1 assist while Marner had 6 assists.
Larkin is currently a UFA at the end of this season and conversations regarding a contract extension have not exactly been going well with Detrot.
After the final game on Saturday, Larkin spoke with David Amber of Sportsnet and had this to say about his time playing with Mitch:
Larkin's currently contract cap hit is only $6,000,000, if the Maple Leafs want to go all in this season and try to finally win a playoff round, should they try to trade for Red Wings Dylan Larkin?
