The NHL postseason began on Monday of this week and as is to be expected there has been a lot of scrutiny and controversy over the officiating by NHL referees.
There were 131 penalties-in-minutes handed out so far between Tampa Bay and Toronto in the 2 games of their best of 7 series alone.
As shown here by Leafs forward Michael Bunting, the players have been disagreeing with the officials and their willingness to call penalties.
While advocates for increased penalizing of players by officials argue it can create a safer game with less injuries to players, some fans and analysts seem to think officiating can be a bit heavy-handed, like this questionable call in the Penguins/Rangers series.
