Alexander Ovechkin is considered by many, the greatest pure goal scorer ever.
Last night against the Vegas Golden Knights, Alexander Ovechkin tied one NHL record and set two more.
With his 49th goal of the season, Ovechkin became the highest goal scorer of all time of players that are 36 years of age or older.
When he scored his 50th, be tied Wayne Gretzky and Mike Bossy for most 50 goal seasons with 9. But this 50th goal also set another record, being the oldest player in NHL history to hit 50 goals. The record was formally held by John Buyck who scored 51 at the age of 35 back in the 1970-71 season.
