For the last few years the Coyotes have been made fun of because of their consistent rebuilding and last place finishes, but this offseason when it was announced that they were going to be playing in a University arena that seats 5,000 people, they became even more of a joke.
The seating capacity of the arena is less than 1/3 of a normal NHL rink, and last night when they hosted the Winnipeg Jets for their season opener at Mullet Arena, it just got flat out embarrassing.
The Coyotes share this rink with the Arizona State University and the coyotes offered discount tickets to students in hopes to bring in a cheering section, and judging by these photos, it did not work out as planned.
