The Boston Bruins made a very controversial move yesterday when they announced they had signed Mitchell Miller.

Back in 2020 Miller was picked by the Arizona Coyotes in the 4th round, but as soon as the news started to spread of his past, the Coyotes rescinded the draft pick.

Miller reportedly back in 2016 bullied a disabled classmate and forced him to lick a lollipop that he had rubbed in the mens urinal.

According to Mike Ziesberger who writes for NHL.com, it is unlikely that Miller is ever going to be allowed to play in the National Hockey League.

The Athletic's Adam Portzline, added some comments made by Gary Bettman:

what I understand and have heard through the media, what he did as a 14-year-old is reprehensible, unacceptable. Before the Bruins made the decision to sign him, we were not consulted. I happened to talk to Cam Neely since the time he was signed. He's not coming into the NHL. He's not eligible at this point to come into the NHL. I can't tell you that he'll ever be eligible to come into the NHL.

The NHL has taken a big stance against racism and bullying, and the fact that the Bruins did not consult the NHL before signing this player who was basically blacklisted has not sat well with Bettman.
