Today the Boston Bruins made the controversial decision to sign Mitchell Miller who was a former Arizona Coyotes pick who immediately rescinded the pick when they learned of his past.
Miller made a disabled students life miserable when he was in elementary school with racial slurs, bullying and even made him lick a lollipop that he had rubbed in the urinal.
This signing has not sat well in the hockey community today.
Former NHL player Joel Ward fought his way into the NHL taking an unusual route through the Canadian University programs, he really made a name for himself when he joined the Washington Capitals and became a elite third line player who put up 24 goals.
Today he commented on the signing, and obviously he is not happy.
Did anyone from hockey ops or community relations reach out to the victim ? Reached out to his family?
Hockey is a privilege?
Making a black disabled human lick a lollipop that was wiped in a urinal isn't a mistake.
The league has been putting a lot of effort into getting rid of racism in this league and to see the Bruins do this today has really upset a lot of people.
