Head injuries are something very serious, and while for years players in the National Hockey League would just "toughen up" and play through them, we are thankfully beginning to take them more seriously.

Many former players are coming out stating the serious issues they are now having after suffering so many injuries, and we don't want to see more people go through that.

We are now seeing another NHL player suffer another injury that could end up being the end of his NHL Career.

Jakub Voracek suffered a head injury early this season after playing in only 11 games on November 5th and has been out of the lineup ever since.

Doctors are not allowing him to return to the game and according to NHL Frank Seravalli, doctors are worried about his injury history and are telling him to stay away from the game.

Jake Voracek (out since Nov. 5) out indefinitely with a concussion. Doctors advised him to take some time after numerous career head injuries.

Over his 15 year career, Voracek has played in 1058 games and has had quite a few concussions. If the doctors are this concerned with his health, there is definitely some worry about his health post-hockey.

Voracek has had one hell of a career, and while he may not have ever won a Stanley Cup, if this is indeed the end, he has nothing to be ashamed of. This is not the way any hockey player wants to go out, but he can retire knowing he was an elite hockey player and everyone enjoyed seeing him play.
