NHL agent Allan Walsh shared one of Gary Bettman's biggest secrets regarding the 2025-26 season yesterday.

NHL agent Allan Walsh shared one of Gary Bettman's biggest secrets regarding the 2025-26 season yesterday.

Allan Walsh has certainly not been afraid to speak his mind in the past and he has not changed in that regard.

One might say that he has been a thorn in Gary Bettman's side as he often draws attention to the darker sides of the sport.

One thing he has consistently criticized the league on is how they have dealt with Chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE), a chronic brain condition that results from repeated blows to the head.

It is a common condition among professional athletes including hockey players, especially those who fought many times in their career.

Last year, Walsh blamed Bettman and the NHL for turning a blind eye as another former enforcer passed away prematurely due to the condition.

Now, Walsh has proven to be a thorn in Bettman's side yet again as he leaked some very important information about the upcoming 2025-26 season.

He revealed with a lot of confidence that the salary cap will be going to 97 million dollars, up from the current 88 million dollar ceiling.

"You heard it from me. I am telling you right now, you can write it down. I am not divulging any confidences here, I am not divulging any inside information per se, I am telling you right now the upper limit of the salary cap next year will be $97 million"

Walsh, who is based in LA, also commented on the ongoing wildfires in southern California that have led to over 100,000 people being evacuated and even the postponement of a Kings game earlier this week.

If Walsh is correct, this offseason could be one of the most exciting we have seen in years.

Even teams at the bottom of the standings could suddenly become competitive with that much more cap room to play with.

Hopefully, this is the case, but we will just have to wait and see how things play out.
