New York Rangers Acquire Expensive Defenseman

The New York Rangers just recently moved a key piece of their blue line, and in their second trade with Vancouver this year, they've now landed Carson Soucy.
This season has been an overall wild ride for the New York Rangers, and heading into the trade deadline, they'd already made several surprising trades, moving the likes of Kaapo Kakko, Jacob Trouba, Filip Chytil and most recently, Ryan Lindgren.
In exchange the team landed some intriguing young pieces and of course, J.T. Miller, and on Thursday the trades continued as the team have now landed a big body defenseman from the Vancouver Canucks in Carson Soucy.
The news was first broken by Darren Dreger, which was followed up by Elliotte Friedman, who notes that the deal will send a third-round pick back to the Vancouver Canucks.
The 30-year old defenseman has played in 59 games this season, tallying 3 goals and 10 points in that time, all while posting a very mediocre -13 on a struggling Canucks team.
Now, the Alberta native and hulking defenseman, who stands at 6-foot-5 will head to the Big Apple to replace some of the physicality this team lost when Lindgren and Trouba were moved, with the Rangers now just a few points out of the Wild Card race in the Eastern Conference as they battle to save their season after falling apart completely in recent months.
