Hockey is a physical game, and as a fan, we all love fights and big hits. The physicality in hockey can change the outcome and course of a game and while sometimes it's for the better, sometimes it's also for the worse as well. Yesterday during a game in the KHL between SKA-Neva and Dynamo, a big hit injured a Pittsburgh Penguins prospect.
Kirill Tankov who is a Penguins draft pick from 2021, where he was selected in the 7th round, was taken off the ice on a stretcher, after being hit from behind by Artyom Maltsev.
After the hit, Tankov was motionless on the ice.
These are the types of hits that belong no where near our game.
